These characters work with most word processors, email, Word, Wordpad, etc.
The numbers range from 0 to 0256, but the lower numbers represent characters you can type directly on the keyboard. Some of the lower numbers also do tricky things, like starting a new page, or deleting to the end.
The numbers starting with a ZERO are the same as those without the zero up to number 127/0127. From 127 higher, a leading zero gives a character different than without the zero.

The important thing to remember to get these characters is - First, make sure the NumsLock is lit on your keyboard - Second HOLD DOWN the ALT key while typing the number on the numeric keypad , then release ALT, and the character should appear.

The top table shows our call on the most useful and interesting characters. The tables below show all of the non-keyboard characters available.
Numbers 15, 20, and 21 are non-keyboard characters, then the rest to 127 are keyboard characters. Numbers 48-57 are the numbers, 65-90 are capital letters, 97-122 are lower-case letters.

Be Careful! - Number 7 is delete, 8 is backspace, 9 is tab, 11 and 13 are enter, 12 and 14 are delete to end or new page . . . 32 is a space.
