This 1939 Clinton Radio (Clinton Mfg. Co., 1217 W. Wash. Blvd, Chicago) is also
found labeled with other brand names and different dials and knobs,
including Lionel, Lafayette and the Pilot T500, T502 and T504.
The Pilot radio was made in 1946 after the radio molds were brought back into service
when consumer radio production resumed at the end of WWII,
similar to many Belmont radio molds.
This model is both AM and Shortwave.
It is also found in all black bakelite or all white plaskon or
an alternate black & white cabinet.
The cabinet is actually 4 separate pieces with
long corner bolts holding it all together.
It was also used for other electronics including
the Lafayette intercom system shown below.
The design is credited to K.E.B. Stenberg in 1938.
