This is a classic perfectly proportioned tombstone style bakelite radio from Pilot Radio.
The model 203 was offered with chrome trim or without.
Notice the different dials and the two knob designs that were exclusive to Pilot radios.
It was also available in white plaskon or black bakelite.
Pilot Radios were made in Long Island City, New York.
Radio News helped introduce the Pilot tombstone in the May 1936 issue.
Pilot Radio also had factories in Britain that had their own designs, some similar to US models.
US Pilot Radio exported many radios around the world and were popular in Europe.

The Bakelite Corporation included the Pilot 203 in their May 1936 Electronics magazine advertisement.
I've found the Australian Airzone model 529 below
is identical to the Pilot 203's basic cabinet with only the obvious dial & grill changes.
Even with a similar leaf design on the grill.
Another Pilot radio design was also borrowed by Australia's Airzone Radio,
(or was it the other way around? No relationship between Pilot and Airzone has been found).
A larger bakelite Pilot model G562B has the same cabinet design
as the Aussie Airzone 537 "Symphony Leader".
The Airzone's dial was larger and the knob configuration was different,
and it included a white plaskon grill inset, but the dimensions and
all the other design curves and lines are the same as the Pilot G562B or WH262.
