This is the beautiful Kadette K-12 "Classic" made in 1936
by the International Radio Corporation of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Ads boasted that this was the first radio made from 3 different plastics.
A white body and green colored top made of plaskon
and a marbled green tenite grill and knobs.
The radio was designed to be viewed from all angles,
with the back of the radio similar to the front.
Different color combinations includes the K10 (ivory with a blue top)
K11 (ivory & yellow, K12 (ivory & green), K13 (ivory & rose),
K14 (all brown), K15 (all green), K16 (black with a red top).
Another Kadette "Classic" brochure show the model numbers as
LR, LG, LI and LB.
The chassis is heavy and the cabinet fragile, so most didn't survive and
the ones that surface usually have cabinet damage.
The cabinets and colored tops commonly exhibit typical plaskon hairlines.
The tenite front and back grills are commonly warped.
Their asthetic appeal and scarcity have made these rare to find.
